ALEXANDRA LEWIS-LORENTZ is a Research Associate Faculty in the Department of Anthropology at Central Washington University, Ellensburg and has taught Anthropology at the college level for over 20 years. She holds a M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology (1983, 1990) from the University of Washington, and Masters Degree in Anthropology (1974) from Cambridge University, England. (Curriculum Vitae)

Alexandra has also worked for PBS as a production assistant and producer/writer for four years. Her media experience began with the production of the documentary GANNAGARO: THE SENECA TOWN OF PEACE(1986), funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities; the production of two short pieces for the nationally televised children’s (PBS) news program ASSIGNMENT: THE WORLD (1985); script writer for an independent documentary on agricultural production in southern China; consulting anthropologist for the production of an interactive CD-ROM: SACRED SPACES (1997). She has been the recipient of several awards for anthropological research and teaching, and has been nominated twice by students for WHO’S WHO AMONG AMERICA’S TEACHERS (1998, 2002).

Today she lives in Wenatchee, Washington where she is the sole proprietor of ajl Productions, and is carving out her niche in video production (producing, narrating, writing, editing) while conducting research in ethnomusicology and the cultural dynamics of the Wenatchee Valley.
